Cuts and Bruises

5/4/14
I was making multiple cuts and bruises to get to the right colors and shades to see which batch is made the best in order to see which has the most realistic looking cuts and bruises. I figured out how to get that realistic look. You need the right amount of red and purple. Not too much but more of a translucent look. Also an older bruise would need the color yellow and purple with a little bit of brown. The cuts take longer to make since I use scar wax. You have to mold the wax to the right size and the right shape. Then apply the wax onto the skin with spirit gum if it's going to be worm for a long period of time. From there I cut into the scar wax to create the depth of the look. I add the colors red and black on the inside to give it dimension, then add blood. Practicing helps to see the improvement you get and helps you to see the better way to do it.
